Hi,

I just joined after looking over the site and what great info is here. I have been using the Pfaff 1142 Hobby machine for a few years. A couple of days ago I was able to purchase a Pfaff Grand Quilter 1200 Commercial from a private individual. It has less than 40 hours use. Thankfully it came with the manual. Although I have been sewing for years there are a couple of things I can't figure ...

My mother just inherited this machine in a very heavy furniture-type cabinet and cannot determine how to raise the machine to a sewing position so that she can use. I have looked through all of the original manuals, etc..., but can find no reference. The local dealer is also no help ... says this machine is too old, although it is in new condition.
Any sharing of knowledge is appreciated.

NOW! Here is my question.

I have a chance at a Pfaff 4872 & a 4874 serger...what are the differences? The 4874 is more money, both right now are affordable.

OT - cleaning mold or whatever from Hummingbird feeder

This has been a problem for me for a long time.[:(]

Just learned an incredible trick yesterday - drop 1/2 tablet of denture cleaner in the reservoir and soak for 15 - 20 minutes, shake like crazy if you can't insert a cleaning brush. Soak the feeder trays in denture cleaner also.

No muss, no fuss and no danger to the hummers.[=D>]

CV -- TERRIBLE STITCHES

I've had three Pfaff machines, first a 1475 (which I should have kept), then traded up to a 2170, only to find a few months later that the CV was coming out, so I asked my dealer to take the 2170 back and buy up to the CV, which she did. I really wanted a machine that would take me into the future for many years to come without something being discontinued right away. So I ended up with her firs...

Trouble Getting Hemming Stitch to Work on 1212

Hi,
I've tried every "recipe" for stitches on my 1212, but I can't get the hemming stitch (triangle up-then-triangle down) to stitch out.
I'm getting about half of it where I get something like a blanket stitch, but the perpendicular stitch is at an angle __/__/__/__/

sewing feet for pfaff 1222

Hello to all, I am new to this site and would like to know if anyone can tell me what other (brands) sewing feet are compatable with the pfaff 1222. In particular I am looking for a round (not oval) darning/quilting foot that may fit my pfaff 1222. I would like to use it to do echo quilting.
Thanks Shazz

Can the 6085 needle position be changed?

VERY new to sewing and got a Pfaff Varimatic 6085. I'm trying to figure out if I can change the needle position to the left or the right.

I thought I had it but the far left/right positions I did find were for zigzag stitching.

I need to change positions to the left/right...but...in a STRAIGHT STITCH.[:((]

Anyone?
