Marianne and I tried using the MAXI stitches tonight. We're not very familar yet with the machine having bought it used very recently. On the simple stitches, it moves along ok. On the complicated ones, it seems to get on top of the last items. We tried using stabilizer and doubling up the material, to no avail. Anyone have any idea what we new users are doing wrong?

Expression 4.0 & Intro

Hi All,
I just purchased the new Expression 4.o and am interested in learning as much as I can about it.
I don't have a local dealer...the nearest is about a 5 hr drive away, so am hoping to learn from other users who have the advantage of classes and dealer help.
I used to work at a Pfaff/Viking dealership but moved out of State.
Any tips and tricks are welcome.

Thanks,

I've finally finished the wall hanging that I am planning on giving my Dad for Christmas. It's about 3'x4' and is adapted from a double sized bed pattern that I reduced to be able to be suitable for hanging. It was a lot of fun to put together and was different from anything I've done before. It went together like a puzzle, pieced section by section, and since I reduced the s...

New tool I absolutely love

Although I own two of the round "turn tables" one with a pressing surface on one side, while I was in Missouri working on the X-block and hadn't sent one of these, went to JoAnn's and got the flat Olfa (?) that fits exactly in my ArtBin cases.

It is probably some of the best money I've spent on "tools" - - some of which have turned out to be - - not exactly what I expected....

Weekend quilting retreat

This is the feathered star block I made on the quilting retreat I went to. It is paper pieced.
The paper piecing was easy, but the set in triangles were a pain in the butt.[:-&] [X-(]
Have since been online and found a much easier piecing method, that is IF I ever wanted to do another one.

This is only a 16"block so I will add some borders and make it bigger - sometime.

My inexperience needs a hand : [:-/] I have just taken my batting - Heirloom Premium Wool - out of its wrapping and unrolled it. Now it is in parts wavy and in other parts straight. I suppose it stretched in the packing, and they must be aware that this happens, as it is folded and rolled into an 18 inch roll. So........ how do I get the waves out and shrink it back to its normal smoothness?[:-?...

embroidery

Does anyone do embroidery designs?

I know there are millions of designs out there.

Have you noticed that they just don't seem to fit with what youre doing

Well my husband does designs for me. I tell him what I need and he makes it for me.

Seems like the right thing to do, at least I have the kind I need when I want it.

I know I am new but hello!

Hobbylock 797 - Need Needle Bar

I can't get the screw that holds my "A" needle (left-most needle) in place to screw back into that tiny hole. My local pfaff dealer says I'll need to replace the needle bar completely but that he can no longer oder the part.

Does anyone know if and how I can order the part myself or if it may be possible to get the hole retapped?

Thanks!

Just another baby quilt. Very similar to the last one I shared. I've certainly had fun watching the embroideries develop on the machine. My mood is always light while I'm doing these.

The babies just keep showing up so I suppose I'll be busy for a long time.

Smart Card station

I bought a Vikant card to use with my 2140, and it works fine in the machine. I am able to store from the machine memory and can see what is saved. However when I try to use it with my Smart card Station I get an error message saying that the card is write locked. The switch on the card is in the proper position, and I have tried it in both positions. Does anyone out there have any ideas?
